The Classic RAF logo as been used many times for many different things. Recently BBC America launched there new Channel design and yep you guessed it, a modified version of the RAF logo.
So when it came to designing the new branding for EXPDESIGN the idea of having something that people would instantly notice and go oh i know that even if minor things are change in the logo, then it would be a success.
I extracted a few items from the old logo, the classic font Arial. and the emblem of the Griffith. both have been around since the very early days and still manage to hold up today.
The colour was a bit hard to get right. most uses of the RAF logo are quiet bright but i wanted colours that show more earthy tone thus going for darker versions of the colour much like the London underground logo.
The use of the RAF logo also ment that branding can be either the full logo with text or just the roundal by it self which could be used for many things like stickers and tshirt designs.
So there you have it a new decade and new brand for EXPDESIGN.
